Our Story

How It All Began

When Keith Thompson was growing up on his fathers farm, not far from Maple Forest Whitetails, he realized farming would be something he could never escape. After years of working with cattle, pigs and horses, he took a slight break to change gears. This is when Maple Forest Whitetails was born. During 2018, Keith starting putting up pens, remodeling his barn, and making his first moves to purchase the fawns that would start the Maple Forest herd. In the Spring of 2019, Maple Forest Whitetails became the home to two of Keith's new babies. After spending some time bottle feeding and loving on Pink 23 and Pink 61, his love for farming had reached yet another new level. By mid 2019, Maple Forest had grown from two fawns to seven does, as well as a couple partnerships, for a total of 11 deer. After countless hours of studying pedigrees, doing research and getting some hands-on experience, Keith seen the potential of the direction he was headed.

So far, at the beginning of 2020 there have been no signs of slowing down as Keith continues full steam, building and pushing Maple Forest Whitetails towards being one of the most well-known, high-end Whitetail breeding facilities in the state.

With the help of some very good friends he has made in the industry so far, his goal to raise the healthiest and best pedigreed animals is now a reality.

Keith hopes to retire from his full time job as a Power Plant Operator in 2020, and dedicate even more time to making his dreams come true.
